What is changing around Khatu Shyam

The central government approved ₹254.06 crore in March 2024 for a new 17.9 km line from Ringas to Khatushyamji, Patrika reported.

In a Lok Sabha reply on 6 August 2025, the Ministry of Railways described the Ringas–Khatu Shyam Ji line as about 17 km, sanctioned at a cost of ₹254 crore, with ₹43 crore allocated for 2025-26, and said land acquisition had been taken up.

On 14 February 2026 the Rajasthan High Court stayed the issue of the land-acquisition award for the project and ordered the project’s DPR record to be produced, ETV Bharat reported. The petitioners argued that the notification covered land different from the DPR. GuruVista found no later court update.

Separately, on 7 July 2026 the Railway Minister announced a proposed new station on the existing Sikar–Ringas line, between Palsana and Baori Thikria stations, about 11 km from the temple. Technical work on the tracks and signalling is to come first, then the station building.

In the Rajasthan Budget 2024-25, presented on 10 July 2024, the state’s Finance Minister proposed a corridor at Khatu Shyam Ji temple at a cost of about ₹100 crore, India TV reported. GuruVista found no public tender or work status for it.

The Ministry of Tourism lists “Development works at Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple (Sikar)” as sanctioned on 29 March 2025 for ₹87.87 crore under Swadesh Darshan 2.0, in a written Lok Sabha reply released by PIB on 21 July 2026.

The Rajasthan Gazette of 27 June 2024 published a draft Master Plan 2041 for Khatushyamji covering seven revenue villages: Khatushyamji, Hanumanpura, Sitarampura, Swami ki Dhani, Jhamawas, Chomu Purohitan and Kerpura. Objections were invited from 27 June to 26 July 2024.

Dainik Navajyoti reported that the draft booklet shows a separate footpath from Ringas to Khatu, a ring road, a railway station and a darshan area around the temple.

GuruVista has not found a final notification, so treat the plan as a draft. The Gazette notice points readers to the town-planning section of urban.rajasthan.gov.in; for the current map, ask the town-planning office rather than relying on copies that circulate online.

Sikar city has its own draft Master Plan 2041, released for public objections on 25 June 2025 and covering 50 villages, Shekhawati Live reported.

Today the road from Jaipur runs along NH52 to Ringas and then along the Khatu road (SH113), on OpenStreetMap.

A 2016 development plan by the state’s Devasthan Department proposed a 60 m-wide, 28.13 km ring road around Khatu, with sewerage and underground electricity lines for the town. The 2041 draft also shows a ring road. GuruVista found no report of either being built.
