How to reach Khatu Shyam Ji

From Jaipur, the usual route runs north on NH52, the Jaipur–Sikar highway, to Ringas, then west on the Khatu road (SH113) to the town: about 80 km in all on OpenStreetMap.

Khatu is about 46 km by road from Sikar city and about 280 km from New Delhi railway station.

The state’s 2016 development plan records daily buses to Khatu from Delhi (DTC, Haryana Roadways and Rajasthan Roadways) and from Jaipur. Services change, so confirm with the operator before you travel.

In its Lok Sabha reply of 6 August 2025, the Ministry of Railways said Ringas serves as the railhead for Khatu Shyam Ji. It said Ringas is connected to Delhi by 8 pairs of Mail/Express services, 3 pairs of which run daily, and to Kota by 3 pairs of regular services.

The last stretch from Ringas to Khatu is by road, about 17 km. The temple committee’s website also carries a list of trains from Ringas station; confirm current times with Indian Railways before you travel.

Khatu has no railway station yet. A Ringas–Khatu line is sanctioned, but its land acquisition is under a High Court stay (reported February 2026).

Jaipur International Airport, at Sanganer in the south of Jaipur, is the nearest airport. The road trip from the airport to the temple is about 95 km on OpenStreetMap; the state’s 2016 plan gives about 80 km without saying how it was measured.

During the Phalgun Lakkhi Mela many pilgrims walk the road from Reengus to the temple, about 17 km, carrying a Nishan. Special traffic arrangements apply on the Ringas–Khatu road at that time.

In 2026 a social-media rumour claimed that devotees would have to walk 40 km. The Mela magistrate asked devotees to trust only official information, Patrika reported.

Khatu has dharamshalas and hotels; they fill up around Ekadashi and during the Mela, so book early.
